September 2013

September e-missive

The kids are back in school, the days are supposed to be getting cooler (it’s certainly staying dark longer), and the Rockies aren’t in the playoffs again…it must be September and time for our chapter meetings to begin. We’re starting off big, with AORN Headquarters hosting our meeting on Thursday, Sept. 12th, beginning at 1730 with picnic-style fare provided courtesy of CCI. This meeting will be spent catching up with old friends and meeting new ones. We’ll kick off with introductions of board and committee members-these are the folks who drive the DAORN bus so make it a point to say hi, let them know your ideas for making our chapter better, or just let them know they’re doing a great job. Want to be more involved? This meeting provides a great opportunity to learn about all the exciting initiatives in the works.   AORN staff will be here to answer questions about the 2014 and 2015 Surgical Expos.   We’ll also discuss and vote on changes to our bylaws.

If you aren’t able to come to the meeting, you will be able to access it remotely by calling Conference Phone Number: 866.740.1260 Access Code: 3686729 and going to https://cc.readytalk.com/r/yj7cdb2ziw6f&eom  on your computer. You will then be able to participate in the meeting and view any slides.

So come on down to 2170 S. Parker Road and pick up a tally sheet to keep track of your eligibility points, learn about the “Cause of the Month”, and help DAORN off to a strong start for the 2013-2014 year. I’m looking forward to seeing all of you next week.

Julie Mower, DAORN President
